OK Ladies get your copy now. This book is a must have for anyone interested in vintage styling. I received my copy earlier this week and finally had some quality time with it and I am so excited about it. The book starts with a brief history of make up use. Them moves into tools of the trade as well as techniques. Then goes through some make up looks era by era. I have to say that so far my favorite part is when she shows how to do a drawn brow without removing your natural brow that was truly an eye opener for me. If you already have the Lauren Reynolds Vintage Hairstyling book this would be a great companion book for it. My only wish is that it was a ring format so it would be easier to leave the page open when trying to reproduce a look. If you are not already following Miss Rennels blog I do recommend it as well, Bobby Pin Blog. The photo below is straight from the blog as I do not have a good scanner at present. Hope you all had a fine Easter and take care.
Looks good! :D
ReplyDeleteI know my copy is on it's way, but it takes a little time to get over the Atlantic. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool, I might see if I can get the library to order it. They're usually so obliging.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. My father's family is from upstate Michigan, so they probably sound like you and kind of make fun of me at family reunions. :) The blouse I'm wearing is an old favorite from McCalls 6185.
Wow l would be really interested in that. Will wait til it comes out here :)
